Waaa-Haa-Haaaaa!

A lazy morning of lying in and setting the house up for Halloween.

After bacon sandwiches (yum!), played Pandemic and Ticket to Ride Europe with Kirsten and Ruth, who decided to join us for the weekend.  Kirsten had done some epic baking, including marshmallow ghost cakes and pumpkin biscuits.

Andrew, Sarah and Alex joined us a little later for pizza, and it was v quiet until about 9 when Greg, Kate, Roger, Erika, Dan, Liam and Norris all arrived.  Was a little odd to learn about Sir Jimmy Saville's death by Dan coming to the door in a dead Jimmy Saville costume (body bag, grey wig, fake cigar and silver foil jewellery).

And after a few hours of chatting, drinking and fun, we started a pretty large game of werewolf.  We made it through 2 games, both of which were close and hard fought.  I don't think I had drunk enough to carry off being a werewolf in the second game, but Dan held the fort well.  Biggest learning?  That Norris and I can see through each other pretty well.

Penny was a delight all evening, going down for a couple of hours of sleep, but being very amenable (if a little scared of zombie Liam) at all other times.

Spooky Wooky!

Had a cosy night in on Friday decorating the flat and carving the pumpkin, stunning results shown above (one of my best yet!). Had a lazy morning and afternoon on Sat watching films, 'You only live twice' and 'Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark' to name a couple. And people arrived steadily throughout the afternoon, a bit too steadily to play werewolf as we had planned, though a game of Carcasonne was squeezed in.

Great to see everybody, and some fab costume abounded ... devils, ghostbusters, dead people and tea party activists. Oh yes, and a zombie witch!
I felt a little underdressed in my pumpkin bump t-shirt, was was still feeling a bit under the weather from my cold, especially because I have still been coughing a lot. But still managed to stay up till 2:30 BST.

Ruth, her boyfriend Wela and Nick H all stayed over, so we had a lovely brunchy lunch at the Rest is Noise today with Kirsten, Matty, Andrew and Alex.

So, the decapitated head was in the fridge, the bloody arm in the bathtub, and all is well with the world for another year. Wa-ha-ha-haaaa!

All Saints' Day ... #'I know where it's at'#

The day after another jaunty Halloween party.

Forced by a tantrum and mild claustrophobia to abandon my mummy costume, after the hundredth time trying to get my 'bandages' to stay on, it was quite a relaxed evening really. The cats seemed to enjoy their first Halloween, and were not put off by the people, the noise or the imaginative costumes.

So today has been a day of rest, a much needed self-indulgence, getting started on this year's Christmas card concept whilst watching movie magic in the form of Pirates, The Simpsons, and a sprinkle of Harry Potter for good measure. Ok, so I haven't acheived much, but never has being so unproductive been so satisfying.
